Most would think that people and traffic optimization is only for SEO professionals and marketing gurus. This is actually hardly the fact, I should know, I do it myself every day.
The only search engine optimization I and other successful online entrepreneurs practice is creating “real” information that helps you.
Here we will learn some of the do’s and dont’s of creating content and optimizing it. Hope you are ready for some serious training…
The New Marketers Practice Patience…
The new search marketing rules require you to actually create content. And this is not just any content, but content that really delivers a solid message about it’s particular subject.
Now don’t start crying, creating content is actually simple and, before you know it, you will end up liking it.
There is no over night success online, you will have to practice both patience and, effort. There is a learning curve to all of this, but those of us who got through it, well, here we are.
Learning to create and share content through a few simple platforms content is how traffic is built and lists too. One thing we always seem to forget however, after the learning curve is over, is optimizing for people and what that really means.
Do you create content just to create it or, do you create content because you really believe it will be of use to someone? If you practice the former, you are way ahead of the learning curve already.
Google, Bing and even Yahoo, none of these search engines buy, subscribe or purchase your stuff, so why optimize for them? The only optimization you actually do for them is actually for people?
What Does Optimizing For People Mean?
It means just that, creating content in a manner that helps and informs people. Now some in the “internet marketing” industry stress hyping of copy and sales pages, those of us who are successful kept it simple and informative…you are here now right?
Optimization of written, video and even multimedia content for people first, search engines second, is the best practice you could possibly apply.
Here are a few simple strategies I use to optimize for people online: (First and foremost, I learned how to market here.)
- Good keyword research
- Compelling headline
- Add images that stand out, but with little hype
- Keep paragraphs short in structure
- ADD VIDEO! this is where each piece of content can have a personalized call to action…and trust me, it works!
- Share your content in social profiles
- Engage when others engage with it…most important
These are a few of the regular and simple to implement strategies for creating content. Each one of these as you can tell, are designed for you, the searcher and end user.
There are so many people out there more worried about Apps, links, landing pages, sales pages and Facebook, that by the time they get around to what really drives traffic online, you will already have a large list. All this because you practiced what counted, creating information.
It is not just the amount of people that you drive to your products, services and or, opportunities online, it is the quality of that traffic that counts. Live and create by that statement.
Don’t be in a hurry to drive traffic, be in a hurry to learn how to create content and a presence online that informs and appeals to the traffic you want. That is true optimization after all, helping others get the information and help they need.
